WHY EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING?
Equine-Assisted Therapy with miniatures includes horse related ground level activities to promote physical, occupational and emotional growth for those suffering from anxiety, autism, bullying, depression, developmental delay, behavioural issues, self-esteem and confidence concerns to name a few. Horses and humans share similar behaviours such as social and responsive behaviours. Using horses makes it easier for clients to create connections, form bonds and develop trust. Horses provide immediate feedback to the handler's actions and feelings which facilitates self awareness, communication and impulse controls.
Founder/Operator/Instructor/Mini Extraordinaire - the list is endless.
Meet Patti Stacey. Patti has been an active member of the agricultural community since before she was born - literally - her mom went into labour in the tomato field.
Beside farm life and her animals, Patti's other passion has always been kids. 11 years working at the local high school was all it took for her to realize she had a knack for connecting with and supporting kids and young adults battling the ups and downs of life.
Equine Connection was the natural combination of these passions. Horses and kids. It won't take long after meeting her that you will see this role was meant for her.
